In conjunction with this approach to sustainability we will consider the full carbon footprint of an organisation and this encompasses a wide range of emissions sources, from direct use of fuels to indirect impacts such as employee travel or supply chain emissions.

We operate with three simple source measurements,

• Direct emissions that result from activities within the organisation,
• Electricity usage emissions, and
• Indirect emissions from products & services not directly controlled by the customer.
  

Measuring the carbon footprint of any organisation or facility is a complex task and there is currently lack of consistency in methods for calculation across commerce & industry and it can therefore be difficult to compare footprints. However, Alcyum Energy Solutions takes it’s guidance from the Carbon Trust and we utilise their methods of measurement.
